Classic! Fun, entertaining and scarier than most of the horror stories here. Yet still some sort of happy ending..
Great story of hope for the future of human society despite our self destructive tendencies concerning the environment. Imagine there are no countries and no religion and economics is really turned on its head. And people start caring about each other’s welfare altruistically and not greedily about our own personal wealth. This story paints a picture about an ideal and inspiring future of humanity (albeit in a geographically and climatically changed world). I am just worried that life is going to get a lot worse before we can realise this societal utopia.
But we should be optimistic, that there will be better things to come as this story predicts. And if climate change brings on a better society, is that a price worth paying? We must each make up our own minds. Thank you Fiona for this great thought provoking story.
